BEZGAR HM163 RC Car Review

Our verdict: This is an RC car aimed at kids aged 8 years+ that won’t break the bank, as it’s sub $120. At 1:16, it’s not too big, which makes it easy to use for those with smaller hands or thrown in a bag to take on a trip.

If you have never tried one of the latest lithium-ion RC cars, you will be in for a shock. This car drives really fast and batteries last upwards of 20 minutes. The controls are not too complicated, so kids aged 8 and above can easily get used to driving it after a short time. It comes with a ton of extras that are super useful such as 2 batteries, a tool kit, and even a little bag to keep all your bits.

I have tried other RC cars that don’t give you the extra’s and that often means you need to spend another $30 just to be able to fix minor issues.

If you don’t have time to read my full review, here are the most important things I want to say wrapped up.

What I loved ❤️

👍All the extras that they include, from the tools to the spare chassis clips – it feels like the team behind this RC car really thought about what kids will need to keep driving in the long term

👍The fireproof bag seems simple but was super useful when keeping everything together and when out with the car in the local park

👍Simple controls, it took just 5 minutes to get the hang of it and be driving with confidence

What I didn’t like as much 💔

👎I wasn’t a fan of the chassis with the stars and strips and would have preferred something more generic like a plain color

👎2 batteries are good, but 3 would have been even better!

👎This is an issue with all RC cars, but the chassis clips are super easy to lose if you crash, so you might want to get some spares if you drive it wildly!

The amount of power you get for the price is super impressive and just goes to show how quickly technology in the RC space is moving. If you have never used a lithium-ion-powered RC car, you will be super impressed – this type of power and speed used to be only available to those spending $500+ with gas-powered vehicles.

【Front Light】The HM163 rc truck is equipped with a headlight, which will be automatically turned on when the remote control truck is switched on and that makes the rc truck realistic. What You Get With This RC Car

Before I jump into the details of the car, I wanted to share the extras that come with this particular mode. You have two chassis: a very patriotic stars, and stripes design and a see-through design that you can then spray paint yourself.

It also comes with a small screwdriver, wrench, 4 body pins, and 2 batteries with charging cables. You basically get everything you need to fix minor issues and drive for at least 40 minutes when you use both batteries.

One of the big highlights for me was the inclusion of the fireproof bag that can store the batteries and the tools. It might seem a super minor thing, but I found this bag to be super useful for keeping everything in one place and for storing batteries when you’re playing.

The Car Itself

The actual car has a fairly simple design but uses a lot of metal, whereas you see plastic used in cheaper RC cars. It comes with all-wheel drive as standard and the shocks are filled with oil, so this car can take all types of surfaces.

It was actually the most fun on loose surfaces, as you can do spins and kick up dirt as you raced around. I never had any issues with power, even in long grass, which can sometimes be a problem for lower-powered RC cars.

If you look at the front you will also see that this RC car comes with its own set of LED lights which is a nice little extra for those evening drives or even just finding the car when it goes under something!

I am personally not a big fan of the patriotic USA flag design, but they do include a spare chassis that you can design however you want. I ended up using the clear design in our driving tests and whilst it did look cool you would want to add more color as it doesn’t stand out that well against tarmac.

How Did It Drive?

As with any RC car, there is an initial period to get used to the acceleration and steering, but the HM163 was really easy to pick up. It includes trimming dials, but out of the box it ran straight without any adjustments.

I had the help of Misha, who did some test drives as part of our testing:

Whilst there were a few crashes and challenges keeping it in a straight line, it took less than 10 minutes for him to be able to drive around with ease.

One thing that stood out to me about the HM163 was how durable the main frame is. As you can see in the image below – the main chassis is made of a very strong synthetic thermoplastic linear polyamide – it pretty much feels indestructible.

Once you get driving, you understand why they chose this, as you will crash, and you will be glad that there is a strong frame as you jump and roll over again and again.

So, What Did the 8-Year-Old Think of the HM163 RC Car?

If you have an 8-year-old, you will know that getting them away from a screen is a job in itself. The HM163 passed this test with flying colors, as it didn’t take much to get him driving and away from his game of Fortnite.

The only downside was that after 40 minutes, we had to wait again to charge before going back out. But I’m confident that any kids around this age and even older are going to love playing with this RC car. At 37, I certainly enjoyed it and was already thinking of things we could do with the car, such as driving it in our now derelict skate park to perform stunts.

So just be aware that you don’t have too much fun, or you might need to buy two cars, one for you and another one for your 8-year-old!
