Love them or hate them, you can’t deny that the Minions are a pretty iconic element of pop culture that is here to stay – at least for now.

Something about these babbling, giggling, farting, mischievous little yellow creatures sticks in our minds and our hearts too. And of course, they are particularly popular with young kids, who have a lot in common with Minions – they’re cheeky, easily distracted, love toilet humor and often don’t make sense, but they can also be surprisingly clever!

Although Despicable Me and its sequels appeal mostly to the little ones, Minions fans come in all shapes and sizes. So while most of the toys on this list are aimed at preschoolers and early elementary schoolers, I have made sure to include a few specifically for older kids and teens as well.

When choosing a Minions toy for your little Minion, make sure to pick one that’s age-appropriate and suits their current interests and skill levels. You shouldn’t have any difficulty, because I took my time compiling as many high quality options as possible, covering different types of play and a wide budget range.

Minions Playsets

1. MinionBot Robot Playset

It might seem strange that we’ve included this MinionBot in the “playsets” section, but with all the interactive features it offers, it really is a playset! With a banana projectile launcher, spinning nunchucks, opening eye, punching action and more, there’s no end to the things you can get this bot to do.

1 MinionBot Robot Playset
Recommended age: 3-8 years

What We Love:

❤️ It’s gigantic and comes with a mini Stuart to operate it
❤️ It’s full of fun moving parts, weapons, secret compartments etc.
❤️ Despite all the moving parts, this toy is very robust and won’t break easily

What We Don’t Love:

💔 It doesn’t make any sounds
💔 It’s focused around fighting which some parents may not like

2. Imaginext Minions Lair Playset with Toy Rocket

If lots of gadgets and functions are your little minion’s jam, they are sure to love this Minions Lair playset. True to the high-tech lair from the film, it’s packed with cool features like a rocket elevator, a projectile launcher, a trapdoor, and loads more wacky and wonderful action elements. This one really brings the wow-factor!

2 Imaginext Minions Lair Playset with Toy Rocket
Recommended age: 3-8 years

What’s cool about this set is that although it is big and spectacular, you can remove the rocket and Otto figure and play with them separately if you like. Kids will also love testing out the sticky hand projectile to see what it will stick to!

What We Love:

❤️ The elevator function is super cool
❤️ Sturdy enough to withstand rough play
❤️ It’s a big and extensive playset with lots of interactive features

What We Don’t Love:

💔 Only comes with one Minion figure
💔 Quite pricey for a plastic toy, though it’s very well made

3. Play-Doh Minions: The Rise of Gru Disco Dance-Off

In The Rise of Gru, the Minions revealed themselves to be disco-loving dancers, and with this Play-Doh set, you can create your very own Minions dance-off. In the set, you’ll get 4 Minion molds to create the grooviest versions of Kevin, Bob, Otto and Stuart, a turntable, dance floor and disco-ball mold, and plenty of Play-Doh to make it all come together.

3 Play Doh Minions The Rise of Gru Disco Dance Off
Recommended age: 3 years and above

With 14 cans of Play-Doh included, there’s more than enough for you to make the Disco Minions and have lots leftover. You can make your own funky hairdos and outfits for your Minions or simply let your creativity run free!

What We Love:

❤️ Comes with cool extra accessories like a dance floor, turntable and disco ball
❤️ There’s enough Play-Doh for all the molds with lots leftover for your own creations
❤️ With the molds, it’s easy to make awesome looking Minions

What We Don’t Love:

💔 The Play-Doh occasionally gets stuck to the inside of the molds
💔 There could be a bit more blue Play-Doh for the Minions’ clothes

💡 TIP: Make sure you never run out of Play-Doh with this 42-tub pack.

4. Minions: The Rise of Gru Construction Playset

This construction playset is budget-friendly and yet guaranteed to have kids rolling on the floor laughing. The main concept is using the launcher to projectile-launch one of the squishy Splat ‘Em Minion figures at particular targets or objects on the wall. These little minions really do stick when launched at something, and it’s hilarious when they end up in weird positions and angles!

4 Minions The Rise of Gru Construction Playset
Recommended age: 4 years and above

What’s great about this set is that the box is the playset itself, and easily folds up into a compact toy you can carry and bring along on your travels. The box even looks like a big Minion head!

What We Love:

❤️ It’s a durable toy and the catapult function is super fun
❤️ It folds up into a portable box, making it great for travel
❤️ It’s hilarious when the squishy Minions stick on at weird angles

What We Don’t Love:

💔 The Minions are easy to lose so it would be nice if it came with some extras

Minion Plush Toys

5. Minions Bob Plush

This adorable Bob plush makes the perfect bedtime companion, because not only is he wonderfully squishy and huggable, but even his goggles are soft so there’s nothing to feel hard and uncomfortable. He’s also extremely well made and durable, so it’s not a problem if your kid loves their plushies hard – with such a cute face, it’s difficult not to!

5 Minions Bob Plush
Recommended age: 2 years and above

This plush is as light as an apple, which makes him easy to take along wherever you want. And because he’s so soft and squishy, he makes a great travel pillow for plane rides and road trips too!

What We Love:

❤️ Durably made with quality stitching and all the right details
❤️ It’s super soft and squishy
❤️ It’s great for snuggling, playing with and taking on your travels

What We Don’t Love:

💔 Some people may be disappointed that it’s not bigger
💔 It’s not a very firmly stuffed plush

💡 TIP: Like the look but want something more than an ordinary plush? This Buddy plush comes with a microphone and actually sings!

6. Minions Kevin Plush

If Kevin is your kid’s favorite Minion, make sure not to skip over this option. Plus, this Minion is a lot more than just a cuddle buddy – he’s also fun to interact with because he laughs and giggles when you press his hand! When he’s in the mood, he might even offer up some iconic sounds and sayings too.

6 Minions Kevin Plush
Recommended age: 3 years and above

Several customers noted that this Kevin plush is clearly very well made with a lot of attention to detail in the design. Even the sound quality of his giggles is good – clear and realistic without being too annoying!

What We Love:

❤️ It giggles and makes noises that sound just like in the movies
❤️ It’s a very well made sizable plush at an affordable price
❤️ Good sound quality and attention to detail

What We Don’t Love:

💔 It may be smaller than expected as the height calculation includes the tuft of hair on his head
💔 A couple of customers received products with faulty sound mechanisms

7. Minions Roller Skate Stuart Interactive Plush

We’ve shown you a basic plush and one that giggles and talks, but how about one that can do all that as well as skate to the beat of a funky song? This interactive Stuart plush can not only skate forward and backward on his groovy roller skates, he can even spin around and do the splits! Simply press his hand to activate him and watch him go.

7 Minions Roller Skate Stuart Interactive Plush
Recommended age: 3 years and above

Dancing skating Stuart is a delight to watch, especially with his awesome light-up skates. And at 14 inches tall, he’s quite a sight and will captivate all your kid’s friends too!

What We Love:

❤️ It’s hilarious to watch it dance, spin and splits by itself
❤️ The light-up roller skates are ultra cool
❤️ It’s a nice big size and has a good battery life

What We Don’t Love:

💔 It crashes into things quite easily so needs a lot of room
💔 The visor seems to be liable to crack after a while

Minion Action Figures

8. Imaginext Minions The Rise of Gru Figure Pack

A pack of figures is a great way to keep kids occupied for hours, and because they’re small and don’t make a noise you can bring them everywhere from the airplane to the doctor’s office. This set comes with a young Gru and Belle Bottom as well as the adorable Stuart, Kevin, Otto and Bob Minions.

8 Imaginext Minions The Rise of Gru Figure Pack
Recommended age: 3-8 years

You’ll love the quality of these figures, and your kids will love how much they can move with all their articulated joints. They also make great cake toppers, though I hope you’ll get some play out of them too as they are such fantastic action figures!

What We Love:

❤️ Versatile compact figures that make great toys or cake toppers
❤️ These are very sturdy, detailed and high quality figures
❤️ Feature posable limbs and authentic facial expressions

What We Don’t Love:

💔 Gru and Belle Bottom can’t really stay standing by themselves
💔 They are very small

9. Kevin Interactive Action Figure

The Minions are famous for their adorably incomprehensible babbling, and this Kevin figure lives up to that by providing character-specific chatter, song and laughter whenever you press down on his head. His hands also have a universal grip to hold the included banana accessory or anything else you want him to, which expands the storytelling possibilities.

9 Kevin Interactive Action Figure
Recommended age: 4 years and above

Although Kevin is super cute and fun by himself, it’s even more fun if you get one of the other Sing ‘n Babble Minion figures because then they can chatter to each other! It’s hilarious to see them interact and react to one another’s babbles.

What We Love:

❤️ He makes loads of hilariously authentic Minions sounds and phrases
❤️ The sound quality is nice and clear
❤️ It stands up on it’s own and doesn’t fall when you push his head to make him talk

What We Don’t Love:

💔 You need to buy the other Minion figures separately if you want to see them interact with each other
💔 The banana he comes with is small enough to be a choking hazard for young children

💡 TIP: Get this accompanying Stuart action figure and watch them interact and babble together hilariously.

10. Skate Spinning Stuart Action Figure

For those who liked the skating Stuart plush we mentioned earlier but want something more affordable, check out this skating spinning option. This Stuart uses a twist and release function to get him going, then you can watch him defy the laws of physics as he spins around like crazy! He also has universal handgrip, making him compatible with lots of other playsets and accessories.

10 Skate Spinning Stuart Action Figure
Recommended age: 4 years and above

This Stuart is one of a range of small Minion toys with hilarious functions, so you might end up collecting them all eventually! However, he’s a hoot all on his own with his adorable rollerblades and headphones.

What We Love:

❤️ Very versatile as he has a universal handgrip to hold accessories
❤️ His rollerblades and headphones are super cute
❤️ It’s fun to watch him spin and he makes a great travel toy or desk ornament too

What We Don’t Love:

💔 His limbs are not posable
💔 His clothing is not super detailed

11. Black Belt Bob Action Figure

If your kid loves Bob the Minion or is obsessed with kung fu, this is the action figure that will delight them the most. Every time you press Bob’s zipper, he’ll do something, but you’ll never know what it’s going to be – any combination of martial arts moves, laughs, kung-fu sound effects and possibly farts could follow!

11 Black Belt Bob Action Figure
Recommended age: 4 years and above

In his orange jumpsuit, Bob is ready for anything. However, his poor teddy bear Tim doesn’t seem so ready as Bob swings him around like Nunchucks! This toy has all the zany hilarity we expect from the Minions and luckily he’s sturdy and durable too.

What We Love:

❤️ It’s sturdy and durable and a good size
❤️ His random movements and sounds are pretty hilarious
❤️ The way he swings around his poor long-suffering teddy like nunchucks is a nice touch

What We Don’t Love:

💔 The sounds can become pretty annoying
💔 It would be nice if he could do more movements

💡 TIP: Stretch out the fun to even greater lengths with this arm-stretch Bob action figure featuring extendable arms.

12. Funko Mystery Minis – Minions: The Rise of Gru

A Mystery Mini Minion is a great stocking filler or affordable gift for kids of all ages. Funko Pops are usually more attractive to older kids as they’re meant for display, and the minis especially make great desk or windowsill ornaments. However, they’re also suitable for play, and young kids will love the mystery element as you don’t know which Minion you’re going to get until you open it!

12 Funko Mystery Minis Minions The Rise of Gru
Recommended age: 3 years and above

Minions are already extremely stylized with oversized heads, so they lend themselves perfectly to the Funko look. Each mini is brimming with character and highly detailed despite the small size.

What We Love:

❤️ Simply adorable mini Minions that are brimming with character
❤️ Provides the quality and attention to detail you expect from Funko Pop
❤️ Perfect for kids who like mysteries as you don’t know who you’re going to get

What We Don’t Love:

💔 It’s quite pricey considering the size
💔 The fact that you can’t choose your minion may be a downside for some

LEGO Minions Sets

13. LEGO Minions: The Rise of Gru: Minion Pilot in Training (75547)

If your little Minion is around 4, it might be a good time to get them their first LEGO set. This one is a great option for beginners as there are only a few pieces to put together, so kids can get familiar with LEGO pieces without becoming too overwhelmed. And of course, it’s a great option for Minions fans too!

13 LEGO Minions The Rise of Gru Minion Pilot in Training (75547)
Recommended age: 4 years and above

Along with the airplane, this set also comes with Stuart and Bob figures as well as lots of accessories like a banana and a fart blaster! Plus, the airplane’s roof is detachable to make it easier to play inside it.

What We Love:

❤️ A great first LEGO set as the assembling is very simple
❤️ Comes with some fun accessories like a banana and a sausage
❤️ The roof is detachable so you can play with the Minions inside the airplane

What We Don’t Love:

💔 Some elements may come apart when subjected to rough preschooler play
💔 It’s not ideal if you want more of a building experience as there’s not a lot to put together

14. LEGO Minions: The Rise of Gru: Minions Kung Fu Battle (75550)

For a slightly more extensive set to challenge older preschoolers and young elementary schoolers, check out this action-packed Minions Kung Fu Battle set. This gorgeous set features a bright red temple training dojo, complete with a weapon rack, rotating dummy and “fireworks” function. This is one of those sets that has it all – detail, beauty, interactive functions and even a Minion catapult launcher!

14 LEGO Minions The Rise of Gru Minions Kung Fu Battle (75550)
Recommended age: 6 years and above

This set comes with Kevin and Stuart figures who are going through their kung-fu training, plus an Otto figure to encourage them. And in between their training, they can also have fun carrying the colorful Chinese dragon.

What We Love:

❤️ It’s great for a wide range of ages, with younger kids getting a little more help
❤️ Packed with action features like a rotating training dummy and fireworks
❤️ The Minion minifigs are adorable in their kung fu outfits carrying their dragon float

What We Don’t Love:

💔 Doesn’t include Bob who is many kids’ favorite Minion
💔 There are some very small pieces in this one

💡 TIP: If you love the action-packed sets, you’ll also love this one of the Unstoppable Bike Chase from The Rise of Gru film.

15. LEGO Minions Bob Minion with Robot Arms Building Kit 30387

LEGO can be bulky and pricey, but they do come in compact, budget-friendly sets, such as this one of Bob with his robot arms. For such a small set, there’s an impressive amount of detail and playability here, from the articulated robot arms to the machinery they interact with. There’s even a small bottle of potion and the all-important banana for sustenance!

15 LEGO Minions Bob Minion with Robot Arms Building Kit 30387
Recommended age: 6 years and above

What’s nice about this set is that Bob can get out of the cockpit, so he’s not stuck with robot arms – you can play with him on his own or with other Minions sets too!

What We Love:

❤️ Though it’s a small and budget-friendly set, the level of detail is phenomenal
❤️ Bob’s robot arms have several points of articulation
❤️ You can remove Bob from the cockpit and take off the arms

What We Don’t Love:

💔 Some of the pieces are quite finicky for a 6-year-old
💔 It’s a very small set so there’s not much to build

16. LEGO BricksHeadz Minions 40421

Most Minion toys are aimed at younger kids, so this is a fantastic option if you’re buying for an older Minions fan. BrickHeadz is a range of stylized, buildable LEGO figures with giant heads and a pixelated look. With this set, you can build Belle Bottom as well as Bob and Kevin in their kung-fu getup.

16 LEGO BricksHeadz Minions 40421
Recommended age: 10 years and above

These figures will look adorable on any desk, shelf or windowsill. I especially love Kevin’s little tuft of hair and his nunchucks! Each figure comes with its own sturdy base plate for easy displaying, but you can easily take them off to play with them too.

What We Love:

❤️ BrickHeadz are always adorable and great value, and this set is no different
❤️ There are 3 characters to build which make excellent desk ornaments
❤️ There are some secrets to discover as you build

What We Don’t Love:

💔 The builds are pretty small
💔 They are meant for displaying so they don’t have any interactive features

💡 TIP: Your BrickHeadz Minions collection won’t be complete without Gru, Stuart and Otto as well.

Minions Vehicles

17. Hot Wheels Minions Bundle 6-Pack of Cars

The Hot Wheels label comes with a lot of credibility, and this 6-pack of die-cast vehicles provide the level of quality you would expect from the brand. Each car is extremely detailed and instantly recognisable as one of the Minion characters. These are at once exquisite collectibles and awesome toy cars that zoom across the floor with an impressive velocity!

17 Hot Wheels Minions Bundle 6 Pack of Cars
Recommended age: 3 years and above

Kids will love unboxing these cars as they come in a striking Minion eye box and each one is behind a little door almost like an advent calendar. The box also works great for storage when it’s time to put them away.

What We Love:

❤️ Super durable and roll well like all Hot Wheels
❤️ The cars are ingeniously designed to reflect each Minion’s unique characteristics
❤️ The box is great for storage and has features that make opening it more fun

What We Don’t Love:

💔 They are very small
💔 While the durability is good overall, a couple of customers noted that the paint chipped

18. Gru’s Motorcycle

Another great option for those who look for craftsmanship and attention to detail in their toys is this replica of Gru’s motorcycle, which naturally comes with a young Gru as well as a Stuart figure. And these figures are more than just add-ons – with their amazing detail and multiple points of articulation, they are excellent toys in their own right!

18 Gru’s motorcycle
Recommended age: 4 years and above

Not to be outdone, Gru’s bike also has its fair share of impressive features, like wheels that roll and a working kickstand. The whole set comes together to make a fantastic toy that will inspire endless imaginative play scenarios!

What We Love:

❤️ A very well made and surprisingly large toy
❤️ The bike has a working kickstand and handlebars and rolling wheels
❤️ The figures have articulated limbs and universal grips and are incredibly detailed

What We Don’t Love:

💔 It’s pretty pricey
💔 It would be nice if it came with another Minion character

💡 TIP: For a slightly more affordable but action-packed option, check out Imaginext’s take on Gru’s motorcycle.

19. Minions Minion Missile Two-in-One Combat Tank and Missile Blaster

Is it a missile-launching tank your Minion figures can ride in, or is it a blaster you can use in roleplay games? Yes! With one small adjustment, this Minion-sized combat tank becomes a child-sized blaster gun, making it excellent value for money. In both of its forms, it can launch foam darts up to 25 feet away, so you can vanquish your enemies big or small!

19 Minions Minion Missile Two in One Combat Tank and Missile Blaster
Recommended age: 6 years and above

This blaster hits the perfect balance between safety and fun. The darts shoot far and fast, but they’re made of foam so they won’t hurt anyone. They’re also adorably decorated with Minion faces!

What We Love:

❤️ Offers two ways to play: as a tank or blaster roleplay toy
❤️ The darts shoot super far and fast but don’t hurt
❤️ It’s a good size and the design is authentic to the movie

What We Don’t Love:

💔 It would be nice if it came with a minion figure to sit in the tank seat
💔 You have to manually rotate it every time you want to shoot again

20. Carrera GO!!! Battery Operated Minions Kart Racing Set

In this Minions electric slot car racing set, you don’t control where the car goes – it goes on the included track – but you do control its speed. So there’s a surprising amount of skill that goes into staying ahead of your opponent without zooming off the track! But not to worry – you can make it easier for the littlies by starting off without the ramps.

20 Carrera GO!!! Battery Operated Minions Kart Racing Set
Recommended age: 5 years and above

With a 14.10 foot track and karts that reach up to 370-mph, this racing set is an absolute blast. And the Minions figures in their cars do not disappoint – they’re detailed and full of character!

What We Love:

❤️ The track is sturdy and easy to assemble
❤️ The karts can move at impressive speeds
❤️ You can add or remove difficulty by using the ramps or not

What We Don’t Love:

💔 It’s a bit of a learning curve for young kids
💔 You have to make sure the wires are aligned or the cars may come off the track

💡 TIP: Want to make Bob zoom down the track too? You can buy an additional racing vehicle here.

Minions Board Games & Puzzles

21. Hasbro Gaming Operation Game: Minions Edition

We all know the classic Operation Game – remove all the items from inside the patient with the tweezers without setting off the buzzer. This version is the same, except you are retrieving the souvenir’s Otto has collected and lost – some of which he may have accidentally eaten! The souvenirs include a fart blaster, a roller skate and the amazing zodiac stone.

21 Hasbro Gaming Operation Game Minions Edition
Recommended age: 6 years and above

Operation is great fun and helps kids practice their fine motor skills. The buzzer always leads to laughter, though in this edition it isn’t as jarring as in the original, so it’s better for kids who don’t like getting a fright.

What We Love:

❤️ Just like the original except you’re retrieving Otto’s souvenirs
❤️ The buzzer makes it fun but isn’t as jarring as the OG game
❤️ It’s great for strengthening fine motor skills

What We Don’t Love:

💔 Some customers didn’t like the weaker buzzer
💔 The box it comes in isn’t very sturdy

22. 1000-Piece Jigsaw Puzzle Minions Secret Base

This is another fantastic option for those looking for a gift for slightly older Minions fans. It’s a 1000-piece puzzle, so of course it’s a challenge, but the image is so fun and packed with detail that it never feels impossible. The image depicted is the Minions secret lair, which is full of strange contraptions, gadgets and gizmos as well as a lot of chaos!

22 1000 Piece Jigsaw Puzzle Minions Secret Base
Recommended age: 10 years and above

This puzzle comes from the Japanese brand Yanoman, and many customers commented on the quality of the pieces. They are very sturdy and should last for many cycles of destroying the puzzle and redoing it!

What We Love:

❤️ The scene it depicts is hilariously adorable
❤️ It’s a very well made and sturdy puzzle
❤️ It’s challenging but not too frustrating due to the varied imagery

What We Don’t Love:

💔 It’s a bit pricey for a puzzle
💔 Young kids may be attracted to it but find it too difficult

💡 TIP: Is your Minions fan still at preschool age? Then take a look at this fantastic 35-piece jigsaw puzzle.

23. Exploding Minions by Exploding Kittens

If you haven’t played Exploding Kittens before, you’re in for a treat. And if you have, you’ll know how fun it is and you’ll adore the hilarious Minions-themed cards! Basically, the core concept is for everyone to draw cards until you get an exploding Minion, then you’re out. Last player left unexploded wins!

23 Exploding Minions by Exploding Kittens
Recommended age: 7 years and above

Where the strategy comes in is that there are all kinds of additional cards you can use to prepare for or diffuse the exploding Minion. So although it’s not a complicated game, it is an unpredictable one, and the tension of waiting for the next explosion makes it thrilling!

What We Love:

❤️ There are so many cards that will make you crack up
❤️ The tension-building game format also lends itself to hilarity
❤️ Simple enough for kids but fun enough for adults – plus each game is quick!

What We Don’t Love:

💔 Kids who aren’t yet confident readers may find the cards overwhelming
💔 It’s quite pricey considering it is a card game

24. Hasbro Gaming Monopoly Game Despicable Me Edition

Monopoly is a classic, but its complicated rules and lengthy playtime makes it a bit of a struggle for young kids. This Despicable Me edition is greatly simplified, with much fewer locations and properties and only one denomination of Banana Bucks. It cuts the playtime but amps up the fun with hilarious Chance cards, ice cream sundae tokens and other Minions twists!

24 Hasbro Gaming Monopoly Game Despicable Me Edition
Recommended age: 5 years and above

One of the funnest twists of this edition is that instead of throwing dice, you spin a Nom Nom Top to see how many spaces you’ll move. Young kids will love this addition as well as the cute Minion tokens.

What We Love:

❤️ A much quicker and simplified version of Monopoly suitable for young kids
❤️ The spinner pit is a fun addition
❤️ There are lots of cute and funny Minions details

What We Don’t Love:

💔 Older kids and adults may not enjoy how simplified it is
💔 The pieces are small and fall off the board pretty easily

25. Puzzle Panoramic Trefl: Minions 1.000 Piece Jigsaw Puzzle

Though we already have a 1000-piece puzzle on this list, we wanted to show you this one too because of its unique shape. Instead of being a basic rectangle, this puzzle is a long panorama, with a whole lot of cute and fun Minions images included. It’s especially fun to do with other people, as you can all work on different parts of the puzzle without jostling each other!

25 Puzzle Panoramic Trefl Minions 1.000 Piece Jigsaw Puzzle
Recommended age: 10 years and above

Trefl is a European puzzle brand, and this one stands up to the highest standards of quality and durability. The image quality is also excellent, making those iconic Minions blues and yellows pop!

What We Love:

❤️ A very cute and unique take on a puzzle
❤️ The pieces are sturdy and the image quality is great
❤️ It’s not too difficult thanks to the detail and different colors

What We Don’t Love:

💔 Sometimes the pieces stick together too well and can get damaged when taken apart again
💔 Due to the long narrow shape, you need a lot of space to do this puzzle

26. The Game of Life Game Minions Edition

This is another classic board game that’s been simplified and Minion-ified to suit little Minions fanatics. A Minion’s path to a good life is simple – it’s not about marriage, wealth and retirement, but rather simply about gathering the most bananas as a DJ or hula dancer. It’s also much goofier than a human’s, so watch out for some wacky and hilarious action cards!

26 The Game of Life Game Minions Edition
Recommended age: 5 years and above

If this game doesn’t have the whole family rolling on the floor with laughter, I don’t know what will. There’s not a lot of rhyme or reason, but there is a lot of fun and some adorable Minion tokens!

What We Love:

❤️ It’s the same fun gameplay but simplified and sped up with a good dose of Minions silliness thrown in
❤️ The action cards are hilariously goofy
❤️ The Minion figures are adorable

What We Don’t Love:

💔 The spinner comes off quite easily when you’re spinning it

Frequently Asked Questions About Minions

🙋 What language do the Minions speak?

When you’re listening to the Minions chatter and babble, you’d be forgiven for assuming their language is made up of nonsense words and random sounds. But in fact, Minionese (the language Minions speak) is actually made up of words from many real languages including French, English, Japanese, Korean, Italian, Spanish and German. To add yet another layer, the Minions are actually dubbed differently for the movie releases in different countries, so that their intonation patterns sound familiar to moviegoers there. So what sounds like nonsensical gibberish has actually had a great deal of thought go into it!

🙋 Do the Minions have names?

Yes, Minions do have names, and their names are actually a lot more familiar to English speakers than the language they speak! The most prominent Minions in the movies are Dave, Bob, Kevin, Stuart, Mel and Otto, but there are many other named Minions throughout the three films. At the same time, there are many Minions we don’t learn the names of, simply because there are thousands of them under Gru’s care alone! But considering the fact that the Minions we meet do have names, we can assume that the others do too.

🙋 Is Minions okay for a 4-year-old?

Despicable Me and its subsequent sequels are rated PG for rude humor and mild action and violence. That means it’s up to you to decide whether the Minions movies are suitable for your 4-year-old or not. However, several parental guidance websites have noted that the action is likely to be a bit scary for kids under 5, and recommend the movies rather for kids aged 5-9. At the same time, if your child is not easily scared and you don’t mind them watching movies with some cartoon violence and rude humor, you can feel free to watch the Minions movies with your 4-year-old.
