Ball pit balls are not just designed exclusively for ball pits, you can take these into bath time, fill your trampoline with them, add them to a sandbox, and throw them into a bounce house for extra fun.

Unfortunately, buying ball pit balls can end up costing a lot more than you thought.

When you buy your first 100-200 balls, you will quickly realize that just ain’t enough for most ball pits. The average ball pit needs at least 400 balls and large pits can go into the many 1000s very easily.

A smart way to buy ball pit balls in bulk with large units of 500 or 1000. When buying at 1000 per time, it is possible to get close to 10 cents a ball but, if you buy less, then your cost per ball will go upwards to 15 cents.

In most cases, bulk is usually best but be sure to keep an eye on any deals as sometimes even buying many small sets can end up cheaper than a bulk ball pit set.

Frequently Asked Questions About Ball Pit Balls

🙋‍♂️ What is the age range for a ball pit?

Ball pits are great fun for a vast range of ages (you will even find me in them from time to time) although it can be unsafe to put babies in ball pits if they’re too young. It is recommended to introduce kids to ball pits at around 6-10 months old as at this age they can hold themselves upright and will appreciate the sensory experience.

🙋‍♂️ What are the benefits of a ball pit for a toddler?

Ball pits can be used all year round, outside when the weather is nice, and inside when it isn’t. They can provide development in key skills for toddlers like:

  • Colors and counting – It’s never too early to start helping kids learn how to count and which colors are which. You can teach toddlers to pick up certain colors, name them, then find balls of that same color, then you can count how many they have found.
  • Throwing and catching – Ball pit balls are a great way to progress motor skills in kids. By learning how to throw and then to catch, their hand-eye coordination will develop and flourish.

🙋‍♂️ Are ball pits safe for babies and toddlers?

In a word…yes! Not only do they provide sensory fun for babies and toddlers, but they also promote key skills in their development. They are also in a space which they won’t want to leave, and they cannot drown in balls, if they slip under the surface, you will still be able to hear them call out.

As with any activity for babies and toddlers, it’s all about supervision. You know better than anyone how much or little you will need to monitor your child,
